BIMStudio — Revit add-in

The same library discipline,
inside Revit.

BIMStudio is the Revit sibling of CADBlockStudio: a licensed family library in a dockable pane, serving protected .rfa files straight into the open model. It inherits our architecture — not our DWG content. Revit families are authored as Revit families, or they are not worth loading.

A CADflow product

What it is

A family library that behaves like part of Revit.

Log in with a licence, browse a category tree, load the family. No downloads folder, no shared drive, no hunting through a vendor's website for something that turns out to be a mass.

A dockable pane

The library sits in a Revit pane beside your views, not in a browser tab. Document changes go through Revit's own external-event plumbing, so the add-in never touches the model out of context.

Protected content

Families are served over short-lived signed links to the machine that is entitled to them. There is no permanent public URL to pass around, and no folder to copy wholesale.

Authored, version by version

An .rfa is forward-only — a family saved in a newer Revit will never open in an older one. Every asset is authored in the oldest release we support and published per version. That is the difference between a library and a pile.

Where it stands

Honest status, since you asked.

BIMStudio is in build. The plumbing is real and running; the library is the long pole, and it decides the launch date rather than the other way round.

Done

The backend

Catalog schema and a 101-category BIM taxonomy are applied and verified on a dedicated cloud project, with the API functions deployed and gate-tested.

In progress

The add-in

The Revit add-in loads and runs — ribbon tab and dockable pane confirmed live in Revit 2026. Catalog and licence wiring are next.

In progress

The library

Family authoring standard written, metadata extraction working headless. The content pipeline is what we are pushing on now.

Open question

Which Revit releases

The supported version range is the one decision we would rather take from users than from a spreadsheet. Tell us what you run and it counts.

No card, no sign-up form to maintain. Send us the Revit version your office runs and the disciplines you draw, and we will come back to you when the pane has a library behind it.
